Effective September 4, 2026
RothFuel is family financial recordkeeping software designed for parents and guardians. Adults create and manage a family account and may create profiles for their children. A child under 13 may not create a RothFuel family account independently. This notice explains our practices for children's personal information.
Who operates RothFuel
RothFuel is the sole operator of this service. Parents and guardians may contact the operator at support@rothfuel.com or through our contact form. The operator's final legal name, mailing address, and telephone number must be added here before direct child accounts are offered.
Information adults enter about children
A parent or guardian may provide a child's display name, date of birth, email address, and the last four digits of a Social Security number. Adults may also record work performed, payers, earnings, payment details, expenses, Roth IRA contributions, notes, and supporting documents on the child's behalf. RothFuel does not ask for or store a child's complete Social Security number.
Information collected directly from children
RothFuel does not currently offer direct child sign-in, so it does not currently collect account information directly through a child login. If direct child access is introduced, a child may enter work performed, payer names, earnings, payment details, and notes. The child would choose a password, but RothFuel would store only its hash. RothFuel would also automatically process authentication records, session identifiers, IP addresses, and basic technical information needed to secure and operate the service.
How we use the information
We use children's information only to provide family-directed recordkeeping, authenticate approved users, calculate and display family estimates, create family reports, protect account security, provide support, preserve audit history, and comply with legal obligations. RothFuel does not use children's information for behavioral advertising, sell it, or allow children to make their profiles public.
Parental notice and consent
Direct child sign-in is not currently available. A child profile remains parent-managed without a direct login. Before RothFuel offers direct access to a child under 13 or collects personal information directly from that child, RothFuel must provide direct notice to the parent and use a verifiable parental consent method reasonably designed to confirm that the person consenting is the child's parent. The specific method and instructions will be stated here and in the direct notice before that feature is enabled.
If direct child access is introduced, an authenticated adult family owner or administrator will control whether access remains enabled and may revoke it. Revocation will sign the child out and stop further account access while preserving family records that the parent maintains for legitimate financial documentation.
Service providers and disclosure
RothFuel discloses information only to service providers that help host the application and database, store authorized files, deliver transactional email, monitor security and availability, or provide support. These providers may use the information only to perform those services. RothFuel may also disclose information when required by law, to protect safety or security, or as part of a business transfer subject to appropriate protections.
Google Analytics is limited to RothFuel's public marketing pages. It is not loaded in the authenticated family application, and RothFuel does not send family, child, account, or financial record identifiers to that analytics service.
Parent and guardian choices
A parent or guardian may review a child's information in the family account, correct it, remove the child's login access, request an export, ask us to stop further collection, or request deletion of information that is not required for the family's requested recordkeeping or a legal retention purpose. Contact support@rothfuel.com for assistance.
Retention and deletion
We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected. Active families control their records. When a family closes its account, access is disabled immediately and the family can export its records before closure. RothFuel's current policy is to retain closed-family financial and audit records for up to seven years, then anonymize or delete eligible personal information, unless law requires a different period. We remove information sooner when it is no longer necessary for the family's requested service, security, dispute handling, or a legal retention purpose.
Security
RothFuel uses access controls, family-scoped authorization, encrypted network connections, hashed credentials and tokens, session expiration, optional multi-factor authentication for adult administrators, and audit records intended to protect family data. No online service can guarantee absolute security.
Changes to this notice
We will post updates here and revise the effective date. If a material change requires new parental consent, we will provide direct notice and obtain that consent before using previously collected child information in the new way.
